I began training with Stephanie in August 2007, and what started out as a weight loss venture quickly took me on a journey I never thought I was capable of. I am your typical woman- wife and mother to four beautiful children that I love to no end. Let’s face it, I was at a very frustrated time in my life and very desperate to undo the havoc that four pregnancies wreaked on my body. I met with Stephanie and was very excited at the thought of finally working with a personal trainer for the first time. You know, someone who could create that miracle and give me a dream body within a couple weeks. From day one there were never gimmicks or false promises, and she told me up front that it was going to be hard work and I could indeed achieve it.
The training she offers is very effective and she is an awesome person to work with, always very personable and straight forward. A whole side of me I never knew existed had been awakened, I had been bitten by the competition bug. For months Stephanie suggested the idea that I compete in a ‘Figure’ competition and I always responded by saying, “there is no way I could ever step on stage with those women, they are in much better shape!” Within 8 months I had lost 29 lbs of body fat and was taking the stage for my first figure competition placing 2nd! Now 3 years later and still committed to training with Stephanie, I am a whole new person. Not only have I been shown by her that I can achieve any fitness goal I set my mind to, but I am overall more healthy and happy. Stephanie Figarelle’s training is second to none and she is very good at her job and very dedicated to her clients. I consider her an important part of my life as my trainer and good friend. I would be happy to highly recommend her to anyone. Every change my body has made to accomplish where I’m at today I owe to her. I could have never done this alone- you rock girl!

I began working with Stephanie after a failed weight loss surgery nearly killed me. I made my objectives clear right up front and she got right on board in helping me achieve my goals. I met Stephanie Figarelle on June 25, 2008, my 42nd birthday, to prepay for a series of four one-hour boot camp sessions. My friends had roped me in to signing up for these boot camps after telling me it was really fun, Steph was very cool and you’ll work your butt off. I thought “what have I got to lose…if they can do it so can I…it’s only four sessions.” Wednesday, July 2nd I started boot camp! I had no idea my life would change forever in a way I will be grateful to Steph for the rest of my life.Boot camp was invigorating, challenging and a ton of fun. Steph has a way of motivating you without degrading you and still has an innovative way of pushing you past your limits and helping you do better, to be better and to feel better. During these boot camp sessions I made a decision to approach Steph about personal training. Up until this day I had not considered a personal trainer for many reasons but most of all fear.
Fear is a terrific reason to procrastinate achievement. I usually embrace fear and conquer it no matter how difficult, but getting in shape, eating better and being accountable to someone for those results was territory I had not ventured into for over 20 years. I wasn’t too sure I deserved to spend the money on myself or spend the time on myself. With Steph I felt that with her knowledge base, commitment to personal training, her loyalty, integrity, confidentiality and her own personal commitment to a healthy life style that it was time for me to make the commitment, so I did. With the support of my husband, on July 15th I started personal training with Steph, twice a week religiously. Unless I’m out of town or not breathing I make my workouts as scheduled and on time. I look forward to every workout and now feel that it’s an investment to myself, my marriage and my friends. I would give up my cell phone, personal computer, dish TV, eating out and any other luxury’s I have before I would give up training with Steph. I have dropped inches all over, mainly in my waist and have gone from a size 12 to a 6 and plan to drop to a 4. My core strength has helped me tremendously when I play women’s hockey, one of my passions- and even simply shoveling snow. I can dead lift 165 lbs., do sets of push ups, sets of sit ups and much more than I ever thought possible.
Now I’m thinking, with Steph’s support and guidance, there are no boundaries and certainly no limits to my success in the gym and overall healthy living. I completely trust Steph with whatever she asks me to do and believe wholeheartedly that she has my best interest at heart. Trust me, this does not eliminate my whining though! Steph is so committed to each client I can’t imagine anybody going anywhere else for personal training. Steph is always thinking of ways to further develop existing exercises or adding new exercises to what she has already developed. If you are anything like me and have always taken care of others before yourself, then ask; “Why not you…why not now?”

I broke my foot in January 2009, and was laid up for 6 months. In that time, not only did I gain a lot of body fat, I lost strength and was easily fatigued. When I started walking again, I contacted Stephanie Figarelle to see if she would help me get back into shape and strengthen not only my foot, but my whole calf muscle which had atrophied from months of inactivity. Stephanie was more than happy to help me out and we started training together in July 2009. During our consultation, we sat down together and she helped me devise a plan to go about setting and attaining all of my goals.
She took all of my measurements, helped me make proper adjustments to my diet and set up a training schedule so we could work together 3 times per week. Stephanie started me off with light weights, working on strengthening my foot and building confidence in using it again. Every week I noticed my foot getting stronger and mobility increasing. Not only that, but body fat was melting, whole body strength increased and I was building a lot of muscle. Every training session was unique and she always had me guessing what we were going to do next. She kept me working hard the whole time I was there! Stephanie made our workouts really fun, she always encouraged me, and that made me want to come back and train again and again.

I started training with Stephanie Figarelle 18 months ago and was excited with how quickly I began to notice changes. It was even more rewarding as friends and family noticed the progress that I had made.
I have always been active, participating in basketball, football, soccer, and alpine skiing for most of my life; however, although generally healthy, my physique had never matched my expectations. As I had never spent time lifting weights, Stephanie began slowly with me, working on proper form and teaching me a variety of new exercises to work muscles that I had never felt before. Stephanie also worked slowly with me to make the changes to my diet, filling me up with praise. Her support and patience helped inspire me to make the changes at a pace with which I was comfortable so that each week I felt that I was improving, both in the weight room and in the kitchen.
The life changes that have come about as a result of starting a fitness journey with Stephanie have been huge. I went from almost never going to the gym to feeling strange if I miss more than one day a week in the gym. Although workouts are always difficult, a change in mindset occurred so that instead of viewing the gym as a chore to be checked off my list, it became an integral part of my day with the workout acting as a release from the stresses in other areas of life.
I have appreciated Stephanie’s attention to detail, her responsiveness to any concerns that I have between sessions, the knowledge that she has shared with me, and the new outlook on fitness that she has helped to instill in me. I have been so impressed by Stephanie’s work that I purchased sessions for my mother, in the hope that adding strength training would strengthen her muscles, fight osteoporosis, and generally provide better health and more years to her life. Stephanie’s ability to work with a diverse group of clients (from a 20 something male trying to add muscle, to an older woman trying to maintain/prolong an active and healthy lifestyle), is one of her best attributes; this allows me to confidently recommend her to anyone whether they are a gym rat or someone who has never set foot in a weight room.
